Leading the Way in International Startup Cultivation: i2i Chairman Gary Gong Meets Former Economic Minister Yen-Shiang Shih for a Deep Conversation

i2i Chairman Gary Gong recently led a team to visit Dr. Yen-Shiang Shih, former Minister of Economic Affairs, at the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association for a friendly dialogue. They expressed their gratitude towards Dr. Shih for his long-term guidance as the head of the IP2 International Advisory Board, which has been instrumental in leading and mentoring i2i's operations in the Taiwan Startup Terrace and IP² Launchpad program.


They also shared information about the upcoming second IP2 Launchpad Demo Day and introduced the international startups participating in the program. i2i will continue Dr. Shih's spirit of fostering the development of the startup ecosystem and aligning with the international community to accelerate the growth of promising startups.





The IP2 International Advisory Board comprises decision-makers from renowned companies and institutions such as Acer, ASUS, Tatung, Zyxel, Chunghwa Telecom, Syscom, MediaTek, TaiSugar, Show Chwan, Chang Gung, Tri-Service General Hospital, National Taiwan University, National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan Development Center for Biotechnology, National Health Research Institutes, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Institute for Information Industry, Biomedical Technology and Device Research Laboratories, etc.,covering a wide range of industries including healthcare, biotechnology, information and communication technology, semiconductors, and AI.


Dr. Shih stated that i2i will continue to organize international review meetings and Demo Days in the future, inviting potential startups from around the world to develop in Taiwan. These events will focus on different industries to facilitate concentrated exchanges and discussions among advisory group members, promoting the collision and sharing of more emerging concepts and technological experiences, thereby providing more professional guidance and stimulating further innovation for participating startups.



The IP2 International Advisory Board was originally convened by Dr. Yen-Shiang Shih, former Minister of Economic Affairs, and has been formed over the years to assist in selecting and mentoring international startups intending to develop in Taiwan, providing industry technical knowledge and rich industry experience.


i2i has long invited the International Advisory Board to cooperate and has been operating and promoting the Taiwan Startup Terrace and IP² Launchpad program for many years, aiming to attract international teams looking to expand into the Asian market and leading Taiwanese startups to global markets. Chairman Gary Gong of i2i pointed out that i2i will continue Dr. Shih's spirit of cultivating startups with professionalism and experience, dedicated to nurturing potential startups domestically while assisting foreign startups in connecting with Taiwanese companies and markets.
