i2i Visits Harvard Medical Center to Discuss the Latest Advances in Cancer Immunology

On June 19th, i2i Chairman Gary Gong led a delegation to visit the Harvard Medical Center in Boston, USA. The visit was organized with the assistance of Po Chen, Founder and CEO of CancerFree, a biotech startup from Taiwan. Dr. Ming-Ru Wu, Assistant Professor of Immunology at Harvard Medical School, joined the meeting to discuss the latest research developments in cancer immunology.

CancerFree, an alumnus of the first cohort of i2i's "IP2 Scale Out Program", has established strong connections with the biotech industry in the Boston area, positioning itself as a promising startup linking the biomedical fields of Taiwan and the United States.

The delegation took a commemorative photo with Dr. Ming-Ru Wu.

Dr. Ming-Ru Wu currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Immunology at Harvard Medical School and works in the Department of Cancer Immunology & Virology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is also affiliated with the Department of Immunobiology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Wu expressed his hope to eventually commercialize his research findings at Harvard by founding his own startup, aiming to bring more innovation to cancer treatment.

He generously shared his research achievements in the field of cancer immunology and his personal journey. Although naturally introverted, Dr. Wu mentioned that with guidance from a professional counselor, he has gradually learned how to present himself in social settings. He even concluded the meeting with a lively and friendly touch by performing a magic trick that turned a blank sheet of paper into a dollar bill.
